Magistrate Fazil Azeez yesterday remanded a Canal Number Two Polder man, after he appeared in court charged with robbery under arms.The accused, 23-year-old Drepaul Persaud, made his appearance at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrates Court yesterday, on the allegation that on September 3,Pedro Chelsea Jersey, while armed with a gun, he robbed Omesh Singh of one cellular phone and $30,000 in cash.Persaud pleaded not guilty to the charge, and was remanded after the court heard that he was being investigated for several other matters and currently has other matters before the court.The matter will be called again on October 9 at the Wales Magistrate’s Court.Also,Rodolfo Pizarro Mexico Jersey, at the Vreed-en-Hoop court yesterday, a Grove,Fabian Moreau Jersey, East Bank Demerara man pleaded guilty to a simple larceny charge. Gowkarran Ganesh, 36,Michy Batshuayi Jersey, was remanded and is expected to know his fate at a later date.It is alleged that, on September 19,Tre Davious White Jersey, he stole a quantity of sardines and mayonnaise totalling $2,400,Jeffrey Bruma Netherlands Jersey, property of Jaikishan.To the charge he pleaded guilty, and was remanded into police custody until September 26, when he will return to court for sentencing.
