Shelidia/E&A Consultant,Fernandinho Jersey, supervising the Intern-American Development Bank (IDB)-funded US$6.8M Transport Infrastructure Rehabilitation Programme, is carrying out evaluations to ascertain why the concrete bridge at Cottage, Mahaicony,Christopher Nkunku Jersey, Region Five is incomplete.Sunil Ganesh, Bridges Engineer of the Public Works Ministry,Emre Can Jersey, made that disclosure during an interview with this publication yesterday.The contractor,Pablo Zabaleta Jersey, R. Bassoo and Sons Construction Company, was expected to conclude the US$450,000, 60-ft structure at Mahaicony on December 8, 2011, which was its first revised completion date.Ganesh related that initially, the erection of the bridge was expected to conclude in August 2011 but owing to challenges such as poor weather conditions, it was extended. The structure is 85 percent completed and the contractor has to place pre-cast concrete slabs onto the bridge’s sub-structure.With the completion of this bridge, Phase 11 of the Transport Infrastructure Rehabilitation Programme will conclude. This programme, when completed, will see the improvement of nine bridges and 16 culverts from Timehri to Rosginol.Under this project,Marco Verratti Paris Saint-Germain Jersey, Courtney Benn Contracting Services installed 16 culverts to a tune of US$2.8M between Garden of Eden to Timehri. While in 2009,Ricardo Oliveira Jersey, the contractor, BK International, rehabilitated the Abary Bridge at a cost of US$350,000.R. Bassoo and Sons Construction Company was tasked with constructing eight bridges to the tune of US$3.4M.
