Several residents of Kwakwani who were affected by the recent flooding in the area were given aid by Food For The Poor (Guyana) Inc.The residents of the area received food items and clothing.Residents on the left and right banks of the Berbice River gathered at two strategic locations, at Water Front and Lamp Island where the distribution was done. However, as a result of frequent over-topping of the Berbice River due to high tide or heavy rainfall,Per Mertesacker Jersey, these vital means of income and survival are severely crippled.Rainfall also causes the trail to be impassable, thereby making it difficult for residents to access food and other necessities from other parts of the Region, and country by extension.
