Word out of Lethem is that the water is receding around homes and shops in the district. However the road linking the coast and Lethem is still in a deplorable condition and there are at least seven trucks stuck on the road. The Regional Executive Officer has offered the use of a tractor to get the mired trucks off the road.The Regional officials are also assisting the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph company (GT&T) with meeting fuel needs since the fuel destined for the site has been stuck along the road. Meanwhile the Lethem Power Station has reported that it has sufficient fuel for six weeks of sixteen hours per day power generation.Work at the power station should be restored to normal as early as next Monday and yesterday workers of the power company were cleaning the flood affected parts of their building, an activity that is mirrored across the community as the residents and workers try to rid their homes and places of work of the stench and filth of the flood waters.On the issue of supplies distribution there are reports that several thousand gallons of treated water have been distributed by the Red Cross and the Regional officials.Meanwhile food supplies and hot meals have been distributed to shelters and homes in the Lethem and St. Ignatius areas.Meals have also been supplied to the almost 60 volunteers working in and out of the Command Centre.There are also reports that there are supply flights heading to other affected areas such as Aishalton,Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Dortmund Shirts, Sand Creek,Custom Paris Saint-Germain Jersey, Annai and Karasabai.
