The lawyer explained to the court that there is a backlog of cases at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court and that the Magistrate is currently on leave.However, his bail application was met with objections by Bostwick. He opposed bail citing the seriousness and prevalence attached to the offences. He also pointed out that no special reasons were provided by the attorney for his client to be admitted to bail.These objections were held by the Magistrate, who remanded Dharamdeo to prison until January 7. This matter was transferred to the Bartica Magistrate’s Court.
