He was also injured. He was reportedly heading to the Independence Celebrations at the National Stadium.According to reports the road was wet and the speeding bus in the vicinity of No 42 Village, reportedly suffered a blow out of its right front wheel. The driver lost control and the bus careened off the road and turned turtle.? The left back wheel was also flat when investigators checked.Public spirited citizens rushed to the scene and helped to remove the occupants who were all rushed to the Fort Wellington Hospital.Four persons were subsequently transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital. Those transferred were Chesney Semple, 16; Jewel Joseph, 23; Alana McKenzie, 28; and Murtland Richmond, 25.? The four who remained at the Fort Wellington Hospital were Dallet George, 26; Princess Ince,Derek Watt Chargers Jersey, 63; her two-year-old grandchild, Shannon Ince, and Rayon La Rose. Two of them were later released during the night.The other passengers were treated by a team of Doctors at the Fort Wellington Hospital and sent away. One person did not seek medical attention.?? Reports are that most of those in the bus were family members.The driver was supposed to pick up the passengers at 12:00 hrs but he only came around 14:00 hrs and was trying to make up for time. Investigators reported that a more that 300 yards skid mark was on the road and it was a good thing that nothing was coming in the opposite direction when the bus veered across the road.The driver is said to be the nephew of the dead woman.In the meanwhile the police continue to appeal to drivers not to break the law and take advantage of situations like Tuesday Independence Day. Drivers are being urged to drive within the speed limit and not to overload vehicles.Family members were reluctant to speak about the accident. The driver is in custody and the investigation is continuing.
