Popular Berbice businessman, Roy Hanoman, 65, of Industry, East Coast Berbice, has been flown overseas for medical treatment after the vehicle he was driving was involved in a serious accident at Industry, East Coast Berbice, on Saturday.? The speeding car reportedly overtook another vehicle and in the process of doing a double overtake he struck the vehicle being driven by Hanoman. Both vehicles ended up in the trench in front of Hanoman’s residence.At the time of the accident the hire car had one passenger, Dharmendra Hemraj,Rui Manuel Marques Jersey, 37, of Race Course, Corriverton, Corentyne.All passengers were taken out and rushed to the New Amsterdam Hospital where they were admitted with various injuries. Hanoman was subsequently rushed to the Georgetown Hospital and later transferred to a private hospital for further treatment.? He was subsequently flown overseas to Trinidad for further medical intervention.Reports are that he suffered serious head injuries and other abrasions. The other victims remain hospitalized in the New Amsterdam hospital.
