I know that it has been cleared to some extent.The (police) Service Commission has started to identify officers to try matters,” the senior police officer told Kaieteur News.He explained that unlike in most criminal matters, the statute of limitation does not exist.But despite delays caused by the red tapes in the system, the officer laid some of the blame on ranks who themselves have been callous.“Some of them sit down and think that the (departmental) matter will blow over and die a natural death. But this is not so. The delay could affect their reinstatement, and in some cases promotion and their leave.”
