-parents, other residents protest on the Public RoadThe police are currently investigating an incident during which three young boys from Buxton,Brett Favre Falcons Jersey, East Coast Demerara, were chopped and beaten by villagers from the neighbouring village of Enterprise, East Coast Demerara yesterday afternoon.Injured in the fracas were Mark Lustal, 16; Shaquille Answick, 17; and Lancelot Griffith, 16; all of Company Road Buxton.A fourth boy, Omar Answick had managed to escape and immediately informed the parents of the other three boys.The three sustained lacerations to the head, hands and backs. They were treated at the Buxton Health Centre and taken back to the Vigilance Station where they were detained and questioned. Later in the evening they were taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital.A police source said that they were not arrested but the large presence of ranks—said to be as many as a dozen—caused some concern.And some time after 18:00hrs the Buxton residents blocked the public road in protest against the incident.This newspaper was told that one of the boys had to be rushed to the Georgetown Hospital after he started having complications while he was detained at the station.According to one report the young boys had attempted to rob a grocery store in Non Pareil and were beaten and chopped.Proprietor of the grocery store, Nazeer Abdul, told Kaieteur News that he was not at home when the incident happened.Abdul said that his wife had told him that the boys entered the shop and went to a grilled door and demanded that they open it.“They went to my wife’s small niece and demanded the child to open the door,” Abdul said.He told Kaieteur News that the young child refused and ran towards his wife.
