Two clerks of the Georgetown Magistrate’s Courts were detained yesterday following the disappearance of $400,Dominic Solanke Jersey,000 in evidence money.Well-placed sources of the court explained that two clerks were taken to the Brickdam Police Station for questioning after it was discovered that the money was missing.Kaieteur News was unable to confirm whether they were released as of last evening.The cash had allegedly been in the possession of the Clerk of Court,Donnel Pumphrey Jersey, it was disclosed. It was missing from his office when checks were made for it round 15:00hrs.Kaieteur News understands that the money had been placed by the Clerk in his desk. He reportedly went out and upon his return,Matthias Ginter Jersey, discovered the money missing.Kaieteur News was also told that there was an emergency meeting with staffers of the court when it was discovered that the money was missing.
